On Sunday, June 23rd students arrived on campus to begin another jCamp, packed with information on how to write better stories, take better photographs, and design better newspapers. This year jCamp has moved to a new location, Washington & Lee University.
High school students from five states, including West Virginia, Ohio, New York, Maryland, and Virginia, entered Reid Hall and were welcomed by an opening session by Bobby Hawthorne explaining how to write better stories as young journalists.
Bobby Hawthorne, author of the book Radical Write, shared several stories in explaining the key to being a great writer. He offered the advice to all that one must care about their subject and know it well in order to be a great writer.
